"The population of Apex has grown from 5,000 people in 1990 to more than 35,000 people today. And of course there’s a reason for this 600% surge in population—in fact there are dozens of reasons. A strong regional economy, access to world-class healthcare, top-notch educational opportunities, a charming downtown, wonderful weather, our welcoming and friendly residents. The list goes on and on."

The current town motto—”Apex, the Peak of Good Living” captures the name’s historical significance. A half dozen families relocate to the town of Apex each day, still this town has retained its small town charm and will continue to do so because the city planners wouldn't have it any other way.
